The Game-Changing Index For Creative Leaders
Have you heard of the GC Index? Not just a business growth assessment tool!
Instead of just thinking of it as just another business assessment tool, the GC Index® encourages you to look at creativity, leadership and impact through a different lens. I was introduced to it by The North Star Collective.
Ideate
You have probably come across a few personality tests and business growth assessment tools yourself in the past. Most of these tools tend to favour business growth or creativity.
The Business Builders Blueprint (BBB) and CliftonStrengths are a few that organisations may use as an assessment for their team. As well as, GrowthMapper and The Sellability Score; which are more diagnostic tools that businesses tend to use.
The Game-Changing Index (GC® Index) is really interesting because it focuses on how individuals are inclined to make an impact on their own or how they contribute to an organisation overall.
While the GC Index® does share some similarities to other personality tests, it is unique in how it balances individuals creative strengths and how these strengths can be used to maximise your team’s impact for growth as well.
I talk about finding balance with multiple creative paths in Fine Art vs Applied Art.
Iterate
I had my GC Index profile completed by The North Star Collective. They are a management consultancy that helps businesses build inclusive and high performing teams through simplified, jargon-free strategies.
GC Index® calls their profiles proclivities. I’ll include a very brief description of each profile below to give you an idea:
The Strategist - Maps the future, they see the bigger picture and chart a clear course forward.
The Game Changer - Transforms the future, they challenge the status quo and spark bold new ideas.
The Implementer - Builds the future, they turn plans into action and make things happen.
The Polisher - Creates a future to be proud of, they refine and improve until excellence is achieved.
The Play Maker - Orchestrates the future, they bring people together and enable everyone to perform at their best.
Once you have details of your profile score, you’ll also get a few tips that you can follow to ensure you make the greatest impact in your organisation.
My proclivities are as follows:
Polisher/Strategist - At their best, these individuals bring rigour to the strategic debate, asking questions and bringing the evidence to shape conversation. They seek to put quality as the heart of strategic thinking.

Hi, this article caught my eye, as did you publication, as I was looking through substack. I did my GCI quals when they first set up. I think its a good system with solid outcomes. What I have learned over the last 15 years is that the tool has to resonate - but the facilitation makes the experience. I liked your early article about founders too.
I love that you love this 🥰
