True innovation in consultancy (especially healthcare design, my specialism) often requires an even deeper layer of observation. Beyond corporate design frameworks, there is immense value in bringing the raw perspective of an artist to the table.
While art is sometimes dismissed in corporate or clinical environments as being abstract, being an artist is fundamentally about observing the world in a raw state. Whether observing fashion, physical space, or human behaviour, this raw observation feeds the “ideas machine”.
Ultimately, bringing that unconstrained, artistic eye to healthcare and other industries means generating a vast volume of ideas. Many of those ideas won’t be good, don’t get me wrong. But acknowledging that failure is part of the process is exactly what allows the best, most transformative solutions to be refined, converged upon, and brought to life.
Where do you allow yourself to be creative?
