“Last week was a struggle, lots going on in my family life, lots of projects coming to a close at nooh Studio and in definite need of more sleep. Then this weekend I got engaged. This week, I’m back at work, busier than the last (why does that always happen?!) and because of the happy buzz (they call it cloud 9, right?), everything is easier! Tiredness still there, pressing issues but mindset totally flipped.”
Iterate
I wrote the note above after a particularly busy yet amazing and difficult week. Everything always comes at once.
A change in mindset helps us overcome limiting beliefs, re-evaluate our priorities and become better, more engaged leaders. It’s a shame then, that mindset shifts only tend to happen during times of extremes (I’m engaged!).
These extremes force us into a new world. Not one so different than the last, but with new experiences that put a different perspective on how we see everything around us. Life has a funny way of forcing us into new places when we least expect it. The truth is though, we can choose each day to approach things differently.
Your mindset has the power to transform the world around you. If you think you’re going to have a bad day, the chances are that you will. If you approach the things you detest with gratitude, the chance is you’ll enjoy it more, or at the very least, maybe it will suck slightly less!
The lesson here? Embrace whatever extremes come. Learn from them, and move forward armed with new wisdom, consciously choosing how to respond to the world around you.
