3 tips to gain trust from your audience
Here's how to show your customers or clients that you care!
Would you do business with someone you don’t trust? I don’t think so! How do you show your clients that you can be trusted? By showing that you care. Today I’ll share my top three tips for gaining trust, through showing your passion for your work… aka, by being more you!
Ideate
If you take a look through my LinkedIn, you’ll see a few things: art and design, mental health and neurodiversity support, and conversations with lovely humans. This is actually a pretty good summary of me! I care about art and design, about people (the good and the bad in them) and building connections that matter.
You know if you buy into my business, you buy into me, and I practice what I preach - here is how I practice what I preach online.

Let’s get straight to it! My top three tips for gaining trust from your audience:
Storytelling - Come on, you knew this was coming if you’ve been here before!
Does anyone actually like being “spoken at”? I don’t think so! We all like to engage with others, build connections, and be heard. The best way to do this in your marketing communications is through storytelling; through telling your own story -humanise yourself. I won’t labor the point, but check out previous posts here, here, and here as a starting point!Social good as a business
It’s so easy to say one thing and do another; we can all think of a few big companies who “care” about something such as working rights but then also underpay their employees. Don’t be one of those people! Instead, practice what you preach. Talk online about topics you care about, support charities and causes that align with your values, engage with others who share your values and truly live what you believe through your business. I’ve actually written about social good a few times, check out a few posts here and here.Genuinely care
The biggest point here is this one; actually care. While I can’t make you care about something, I would encourage you to work in a way that you care about or for / within a sector that you care about. While some people can “fake it until they make it”, there is nothing more obvious and pure than someone who truly believes in and cares about what they are doing. When you care, ideas flow, your smile is contagious, and your passion palpable; where possible show how much you genuinely care.
